Don't Believe In These "Trends" Concerning Robots That Vacuum And Mop

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that need to be done like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time.  More Material  is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's clever features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have many characteristics that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
